Afternoon warm up on track so far this afternoon after the morning clouds cleared out. Downtown sacramento is currently at 72 degrees, redding is at 74, stockton at 71. The hot spot so far is red bluff which has warmed up to 78 degrees putting it 15 degrees above normal! Windy conditions will develop tomorrow as surface high pressure begins to strengthen early thursday morning. Northerly pressure gradient from medford to sacramento will be strongest for most of the day thursday which is why the wind advisory runs from 4 am to 6 pm. The nam model is showing a mfr-sac gradient of 10-15 mb during that time period while the gfs model is ranging 9-12 mb. Thus, model agreement is pretty good for windy conditions.
